Baku Port provides cargo handling, storage, ship services, and other related services to vessels and carriers in the Baku area of the Caspian Sea. The tariffs are determined to maintain profitability for both the clients and the Port, while also considering the international competitive environment. The port applies base tariffs in two categories: cargo handling and ship services. The calculation of these tariffs is based on several factors. For cargo handling, the type, volume, and duration of the service impact the pricing. For ship services, the size of the vessel, technical requirements, and duration of service play a key role in determining the costs. The port ensures competitive and optimal services for both local and international clients.

For cargo handling and storage:

  • Form of transportation (container, dry bulk cargo, unit cargo, wheeled machinery, railcars, and liquid cargo);
  • Trade turnover (import, export, and transit);
  • Nature of the operation (direct or full operation).

The base tariffs are determined by calculating their value with the involvement of international consulting firms, taking into account costs, tariffs at other ports, and international practices. Following this, tariffs are applied in ports along the route based on market conditions, cargo market dynamics, corridor policies, and other factors to maintain competitive pricing. The applied tariffs are generally reviewed every five years. Decisions are also made regarding the application of specific tariffs for large-scale projects and based on requests received from companies.
